Dilip Ghosh blames Pakistan for border shelling, slams Bangladesh’s stand, calls out CM's 'stand with Centre'

Former MP and BJP leader Dilip Ghosh visited Eco Park in Newtown on Thursday morning, where he strongly criticised Pakistan for allegedly shelling Indian civilians along the border. He accused Pakistan of consistently targeting border residents and damaging crops, saying, "They have always done this. Now they can’t cross over because of fencing. Their army doesn’t have the strength to fight India." Ghosh claimed India has never supported terrorism and stated, "Pakistan's soldiers are resigning in large numbers. Their army chief is sending family members abroad."

He alleged that Pakistan has promoted violence and terrorism since its formation and continues to act aggressively towards India. According to him, Pakistan is unable to control internal conflicts with groups like the Taliban and in regions like Balochistan, and such actions are attempts to create fear. He said, "India and Modi have global support. Pakistan’s efforts to threaten will backfire." He did not provide specific figures or official sources for the claims.

Ghosh also criticised Bangladesh’s recent position, calling its behaviour “condemnable.” He stated, “They have forgotten that we liberated them by sacrificing the lives of several thousand soldiers and protected the honour of their mothers and sisters.” He said Bangladesh would have remained under Pakistan’s control if not for India’s intervention. He alleged that a larger attempt is underway to unite some Islamic nations like Bangladesh and Turkey in the name of religion, which he claimed would eventually harm them.

Reacting to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent remark, “We stand with the Centre,” Ghosh dismissed it as a political statement. He said, “She knows that if she opposes, the people will lay her flat and wipe her out.” He urged her to go further and explicitly state that Bengal’s population supports the Centre and the Indian Army. He also criticised the Congress and Left parties for not speaking against Pakistan, calling Trinamool a by-product of Congress and accusing them of indirectly promoting terrorism.
